Cargo Volume on China-Laos Railway Exceeds 50 Million Tons: People's Daily Page 2
Recently, an international freight train, carrying fresh fruits and vegetables, departed from Wangjiayingxi Railway Station in Kunming, Yunnan, heading towards Laos. This marked the total cargo transportation volume on the China-Laos Railway surpassing 50 million tons. According to data, as of January 6, 2025, the China-Laos Railway has transported a total of 50.5 million tons of goods, including 11.64 million tons of cross-border cargo.
Since its opening in December 2021, the number of daily cross-border freight trains on the China-Laos Railway has increased from 2 to 18. The tonnage hauled per train has grown from 2,000 tons to 2,500 tons, and the variety of goods transported across borders has expanded to more than 3,000 types.
