The Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High Speed Railway is the first inter-provincial high speed railway built after the Yangtze River Delta integration became a national strategy. The line spans 164 kilometers and has eight stations, including Shanghai Songjiang Railway Station, Liantang Railway Station, Shengze Railway Station and Huzhoudong Railway Station, with a design speed of 350 km/h. After the railway opens, the spatial and temporal distance between Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang will be further reduced. The travel times from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station to Suzhounan Railway Station, Huzhou Nanxun Railway Station and Huzhou Railway Station are now 26 minutes, 43 minutes and 55 minutes, respectively.

　　"This is a high speed rail line that bridges the waters of the Jiangnan water town," said Chen Guoquan, the general designer of the railway. The line crosses 243 rivers and 11 important wetlands, with nearly a quarter of the route being built over water. The construction team innovatively applied methods like "land reclamation in water" for building piers, mud compression block technology, and spraying agents to solidify bare soil, resulting in the creation of 655 piers in water.

　　With the opening of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High Speed Railway, the total operating mileage of the Yangtze River Delta railway network exceeds 15,000 kilometers, with the high speed railway operating mileage surpassing 7,700 kilometers.
